OpenAI Launches ChatGPT Enterprise

OpenAI has launched ChatGPT Enterprise, an enhanced version of ChatGPT tailored specifically for business users. This AI assistant is designed to combine robust security and privacy features with optimized performance for workplace collaboration.

OpenAI envisions ChatGPT Enterprise as an all-purpose AI aide customized for organizational needs. It can purportedly adapt to diverse tasks while ensuring the confidentiality of sensitive corporate data.

Major corporations including Block and PwC are early adopters of ChatGPT Enterprise, exploring its potential to drive efficiency. Unlike the standard ChatGPT model, OpenAI states this enterprise iteration will not learn from users' private company information.

The summary:

  • ChatGPT Enterprise offers unlimited ChatGPT-4 access, 2x faster speed, 4x longer context windows, free credits, and shared team chats.

  • OpenAI will customize ChatGPT to company data and apps while prioritizing security.

  • BUT high barrier to entry: high pricing (maybe ~$100k/year)

What does this mean for ecommerce sellers?

If you are working for a big org, this might be heading your way soon and should resolve some of the confidentiality issues that were on everyone’s minds regarding AI.

If you are not ready to drop $100k a year, then in the short term this probably won’t be a solution for you, but given how quickly AI tech has been moving, I won’t be surprised if OpenAi soon offers a more affordable version for smaller businesses.

Poe Is Your New Web Browser For AI Chatbots

Quora's AI chatbot platform Poe has unveiled some nifty updates to become the go-to AI bot browser. First up is a Mac app providing the usual Poe bot chat experience. Now you can have multiple convos with the same bot, like repeatedly querying ChatGPT-4 on crafting the perfect cold email. Poe's also integrated some new AI models like Meta's Llama 2.

According to Adam D'Angelo, Poe's CEO and OpenAI board member, the future will be full of proprietary corporate bots. He envisions Poe as the portal to conveniently access them all, just like a web browser. For $19.99/month, Poe users get unlimited bot access.

Other updates include browsing for bots, support for Japanese, and an API so developers can fine-tune bot "temperature." We're still awaiting details on the enterprise version, but interested companies can join the waitlist. With these new capabilities, Poe is strengthening its goal of being the one-stop-shop to find all your favorite AI chatbots.

What does this mean for ecommerce sellers?

Using multiple bots in the same query/prompt is probably the future in terms of getting a better output. Each AI model has token limitations (e.g ChatGPT 4 has between 8k and 32k token limit, vs Bard and Bing at 2k and Claude 2 at 100k). Knowing each bot’s strong and weak sides and being able to use them simultaneously will improve a lot of what you get when you use AI. Add to that the ability to create your own tailored bot and you have a next-level capability.

Google’s AI Assistant Duet Is Out

Google has launched its AI assistant Duet across all Workspace apps like Gmail, Docs, and Slides for $30 per month. Duet aims to be a collaborative productivity tool using AI capabilities.

Users can request Duet to create slides from a document outline, generate charts from data, write email responses, check grammar, and more. It provides creative support combined with administrative aid.

Duet also encompasses specialized features for each app. For example, in Meet it offers lighting and audio adjustments and meeting summaries. In Chat, it summarizes long threads.

Pricing is expensive compared to the apps themselves and the AI accuracy remains unproven. This poses risks, especially for business-critical data. However, Google is betting big on Duet's potential to transform how we work. It directly competes with Microsoft's similar Copilot tool as major office suites race to integrate smart AI. The questions around data confidentiality and accuracy remain, but as the tech develops some of these should get cleared out in the short-mid term.

What does this mean for ecommerce sellers?

Tools like Duet can create a lot of additional efficiency in how businesses run their day-to-day operations. Given the myriad of new AI tools and the current fragmentation, a single solution across multiple areas seems appealing and given it’s Google, it most likely will be good quality.

Analysis: How To Use AI Tools In Content Marketing

In this summary you will find 4 key tips:

  1. Be selective about where you use AI, as it struggles with concrete data.

  2. Provide article outlines for AI to fill in. Inject "information gain" like real examples and data, which AI lacks.

  3. Review all AI output for lies since AI sounds plausible but doesn't fact check itself.

  4. Overall, AI can transform formats and draft content given structure and oversight, but has limits. Human review remains critical to ensure accuracy.

Analysis: How To Be AI-Ready

Here is a great article about how organizations can evolve in a post-AI Hype World. See summary below:

David Armano, in his August 2023 piece, highlights that the AI hype has peaked. Moving past the buzz, businesses must now focus on integrating AI into daily operations, a process that will require years of adaptation.

A recent survey by the Marketing AI Institute revealed that 78% of marketers reported no internal AI-focused education in their organizations.

Armano stresses the need for AI readiness rather than just diving into AI. This involves a comprehensive "AI-Ready Stack" for organizations, which includes focusing on ethics, leadership, education, governance, technology, and employee engagement. Successful AI adoption requires a balance between technology and a people-first approach, emphasizing structure and culture.
