40% Of Global Workforce Will Need To Re-Skill
An IBM study revealed that 40% of the global workforce may need reskilling in the next three years as AI proliferation impacts roles. While 87% of surveyed executives believe AI will augment rather than replace jobs, workforce adaptation is critical. The research shows companies successfully reskilling for AI adoption increased revenue by 15%, versus 36% for AI adopters overall. This indicates a potential competitive disadvantage from lagging workforce transition. Technical skills like STEM proficiency are decreasingly important as AI democratizes capabilities. Instead, soft skills like communication, collaboration, and adaptability are rising priorities. Rather than fearing replacement by AI, workers should focus on complementing it.

In the next 1 to 3 years there will be a major shift in terms of role responsibilities and requirements in a lot of organizations. Companies will seek to replace as much human resource with AI as possible. In whichever side of the equation you are currently at, upskilling and understanding how AI can complement and build on your skills and strategy would be essential.
Analysis: Why You Should Pay Attention To Chips and NVIDIA
Chips are the unsung heroes powering today's AI. They are the lifeblood of AI, determining the speed, efficiency, and affordability of tools we now take for granted, from chatbots to personalized recommendations.
The one co that rules them all (for now) *yes that was LOTR ref 🤓 is NVIDIA. If you've seen some crazy hockey stick charts pertaining to share price recently, in all likelihood, it was NVIDIA's. Their GPUs drive AI for Google, OpenAI, and more. Now the news is that NVIDIA's new GH200 chip is purpose-built for large-scale AI. Its huge memory (141GB) can support expansive AI models comfortably. This chip optimizes the key AI process of "inference" - generating recommendations, predictions, and content in real-time.
Better inference chips = more seamless, cost-effective AI integration into our tech and shopping experiences.

Pay attention to what's happening from this side of the AI game because although as ecom sellers you may not see how this directly affects you now, it will very shortly affect you based on the costs related to using AIs in the future.
Analysis: To “Do” AI, You Need To Whip Your Data Into Shape
According to a survey by S&P, data management is the primary obstacle for companies implementing AI, even exceeding security concerns. Just as cars need abundant, accessible fuel, AI models require vast datasets that are consolidated and well-organized.
However, companies often have data dispersed across siloed sources, formats, and lacking labels - akin to a disordered library without a catalog. According to IT leaders, remedying this via centralized governance and curation can take years. Companies serious about AI should urgently focus on data preparation. Hire data governance experts or consultants; Consolidate data into the cloud which enables AI innovation; Clean and label all data methodically; Begin training models on prepared data. With data as its "gasoline," AI cannot accelerate business capabilities if data is disjointed and disorganized.

There is a lot of AI enthusiasm and hype circulating around all industries. Of course you can dabble with ChatGPT to do some top line copy creation or even build a chatbot. That said Ecom and Amazon businesses who truly want to leverage AI in a meaningful way, will do so by using their wealth of internal data. And that can only happen if you have all of your data 🦆🦆🦆 in a row.

Snapchat is set to introduce "Dreams," a feature using generative AI to create imaginative scenarios from user selfies, with options to include friends and potential monetization through "Dream Packs." Given the recent AI blooper (read the previous issue), Snapchat should tread lightly.

Ahead of the EU's Digital Services Act (DSA) deadline, Meta is introducing options for non-personalized feeds on Facebook and Instagram. While this aims to increase user autonomy and align with EU regulations, concerns persist regarding Meta's full compliance, particularly regarding teen targeting and cookie consent.
