The eCommerce landscape is undergoing a shift with the advent of gen AI. We are already seeing it with the shakeup of shopping experience and algos in marketplaces like Amazon. What’s interesting is that AI will definitely shake up D2C as well.

A recent Forbes report highlights the disruptive entry of 10Web, an AI-centric eCommerce platform, into a market historically dominated by giants like Shopify. 10Web promises a tenfold increase in speed for launching online stores.

To date they’ve gained more than 26,000 paying customers and facilitated the creation of over 1.2 million websites through the use of AI tech like Open AI and Midjourney. In a nutshell, they automate the website creation process and offer layouts, designs, images, and texts generated from simple prompts. This efficiency significantly reduces the time to launch an online shop from the average two weeks with platforms like Shopify to just 10 minutes on 10Web.

In addition they support a comprehensive ecosystem where AI acts as a co-pilot across various domains, including marketing, sales, support, and development. Till now any integrations with AI assistants or chatbots have been done as a separate process and built. Tools like 10Web integrate this kind of AI shopping experience as part of the platform.

Although AI tools like 10Web are probably not yet as sophisticated as Shopify in terms of offering and functionality, one has to think about the long-term picture. What is interesting here is that the entire foundation of how these websites are build is through AI-first perspective.

Although AI shopping assistants are not yet bedded as a commonplace part of everyday shopping experience, in 1-2 years they probably will be. And ecommerce brands which already have bedded these and have collected data about consumer interactions would have a significant competitive advantage over late adopters. Although small players now, platforms like 10Web could shake-up the status-quo of the Goliaths of this world, through data and first-mover AI advantage so it’s worth paying close attention.
